Why is there no map for this place... You know, I think that's a project that really needs to be undertaken. Maps of all the various caaaaaaaaa- oof!

[Stepping onto one of the ice-covered floors that covers the ice path, Twilight is interrupted by suddenly slipping and sliding all the way over to the wall on the opposite side, which she crashes headlong into.]

Urgh... that was unpleasant. Alright, just need to pay a bit more attention, let's tryyyyyyy- argh!

[Another step has her legs slipping straight out from under her, and she slides across to another corner of the room on her knees, face first. After a highly unpleasant sounding crash, she lets out a low groan and slides down the wall until she's face down, making highly unhappy noises.]

I. Hate. This. Cave.

[As if to add insult to injury, the Pokemon who's been holding the gear this whole time proceeds to step out onto the ice and easily slide its way over to its hapless trainer, holding out the gear.]

What? Oh just... just shut it off, Champ. I don't even want to worry about that map idea until I'm out of this place, now. Oh, my head...

It could be either, really. Given how this place is, I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was a cave that just happened to be naturally colder than everything else around it simply because.

Perhaps it's some phenomenon specific to this world that we don't know about... then again, Pokemon are capable of affecting the weather in localized areas, so who knows.

It is one of the northernmost spots on the map of Johto... Assuming we're in the northern hemisphere, that could be the reason.

Or... no, this is pointless. There are too many hypotheses possible and no way to test any of them. How aggravating.

...No, there really isn't. Giving us some actual way to be able to run experiments and find out more information on this world would be too easy, wouldn't it.

It's as if it's taunting us with how little sense it makes, sometimes.

It really is difficult not to feel that way after a certain point. I wouldn't be surprised if getting anything resembling answers would just result in more questions, honestly.

Well to a certain extent that can be kind of true with scientific discovery back home as well, but it's less "wait, if that's true how can this other thing be happening" and more "so what are the implications for further understanding this?"

That's along the lines of what I meant, yes. It feels more like you're actually getting somewhere, as opposed to simply confusing the issue further.

Like whatever happened in November, for example.

Mind you, those wasted opportunities usually aren't actually anybody's fault.

Which just makes them more annoying. If they were the result of our mistakes we could at least learn from them.

As it stands, all we can learn is not to hope for anything during those times. Whatever it was that happened in October was more useful than that.

I never did really get much information on that event. Did we ever figure out what caused it or why?

Not... specifically. I vaguely remember the thing that seemed to be directly responsible for causing it, but it was... difficult to make out.

I do remember quite a few other things, of course. ...Actually, were you there? I wouldn't be surprised if you were and I missed you, but I don't remember seeing you.

I wasn't involved in that castle many of you were reportedly transported to, no, I've just heard about it enough to rouse my curiosity.

Well, I don't blame people much for not wanting to talk much about it, though I suppose you'll want to hear the interesting parts.

What have you heard?

Not much. There was a huge, dreamlike castle all of you who were unconscious for the month were brought to, and you all had to band together to try to find a way out. Your Pokemon were taken from you, but you were able to find three of them, and then... Something about a living nightmare at the end?

[That part hadn't made much sense.]

That's the general gist of things, yes. Honestly, the vague nightmare creature wasn't actually that bad, given that we were actually given our original abilities back for a certain time for... some reason.

Interestingly enough, when I woke up, one of the Pokemon that I'd been able to find had a different ability than he had before --- one that's far more interesting than the other one, to be precise.

But, well, as to the actual castle itself... there was actually a fair bit of interesting information in there. Unfortunately, someone stole my original Pokegear and none of my other notes seemed able to be transferred back into the... 'real' world, so I'm going to have to go on memory.

Your abilities returned? Now that is interesting... but then again, if it involved dreams it doesn't necessarily have to conform to the rules of this world.

A new ability based on what happened in the castle, or just new with no logic as to what caused it?

Wait, your notes are gone? That's... that's outrageous! [She looks like someone whose religion was just blasphemed.] Who would dare?

I suppose it doesn't, unfortunately. Still, even though it wasn't for that long, it was nice for things to be back to normal.

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. I feel like the castle probably did have something to do with it, but there isn't any way I can prove it.

Some irritating girl who decided she was best friends with one of my Pokemon. I have no idea what her name is, just that she's positively incorrigible.

Friends with your Pokemon? Can she even speak to it? I mean I guess if it's a Psychic-type-

Argh, it doesn't matter. Can you describe her? Maybe I've seen her and can try to get it back.

He's an Archeops who's been teaching himself to type, actually. I'd find it remarkable if it wasn't being used for such pointless ends.

Hm... she's blonde and... well, I can't say much about her physical appearance, because the fact that she's just utterly bizarre is more striking than anything else. She seems as though she only has the most basic understanding of normal human interaction, and even then I'm skeptical.

That's... actually very impressive, especially considering he has to do it with talons.

I hate to tell you this, but I think that describes entirely too many people I've met here and back home. [Though back home it would be pony interaction, but... again, not the point.] Blonde, bizarre, talks to Pokemon, interacts with other humans oddly... Okay, well aside from Applejack I don't actually know anyone like that, and AJ's no thief, so we must not be familiar.

It really is. He seems to take an interest in technology in general, which is a bit ironic given that he's one of the prehistoric Pokemon --- hatched from an egg, actually. I suppose he was somehow both born in the wrong and right time simultaneously.

...no, thinking about it, that is true. She's... very easy to recognize if you're familiar with her, but it's hard to describe her in a way that makes her distinct from all the other oddballs here.

Well, I'll keep my eyes open regardless. Maybe I'll get lucky and stumble across her. If I do, I promise to let you know first thing.

I would certainly appreciate that. Admittedly, I would ask you not to enact any sort of retribution on my behalf.
