24th Spell: [Video]

Why is there no map for this place... You know, I think that's a project that really needs to be undertaken. Maps of all the various caaaaaaaaa- oof!

[Stepping onto one of the ice-covered floors that covers the ice path, Twilight is interrupted by suddenly slipping and sliding all the way over to the wall on the opposite side, which she crashes headlong into.]

Urgh... that was unpleasant. Alright, just need to pay a bit more attention, let's tryyyyyyy- argh!

[Another step has her legs slipping straight out from under her, and she slides across to another corner of the room on her knees, face first. After a highly unpleasant sounding crash, she lets out a low groan and slides down the wall until she's face down, making highly unhappy noises.]

I. Hate. This. Cave.

[As if to add insult to injury, the Pokemon who's been holding the gear this whole time proceeds to step out onto the ice and easily slide its way over to its hapless trainer, holding out the gear.]

What? Oh just... just shut it off, Champ. I don't even want to worry about that map idea until I'm out of this place, now. Oh, my head...

Friends with your Pokemon? Can she even speak to it? I mean I guess if it's a Psychic-type-

Argh, it doesn't matter. Can you describe her? Maybe I've seen her and can try to get it back.

I suppose I could try it. I'm not really in the right mood at the moment though.

[Grumpy-cat eyes, sure. Puppy-dog? Noooot so much.]

[She shudders.] No, I think that's one experiment I am more than happy to avoid trying out personally.

If we have to, yes, particularly with some of our Pokemon to bolster it and keep a fire going, though we'll have to stick to weaker moves so as not to drown ourselves. It won't be pleasant, though.

Well, I'm pretty sure it'll end in frostbite, so it's not really an experiment because we know the results.

Please take care of yourself! I hope you get out of there quickly. How long have you been in there already?

Two, three hours, I believe. Long enough to get very, very sick of it, that's for sure.

No, not particularly. Unless they were wearing the cleats you ordered, hm?

[She's running out of ideas on how to help, though. Poor kid. Marcia feels a little bad that she has to deal with this.]

Unfortunately, I'm running out of advice. I guess for now, all I can do is wish you luck in getting out of your little predicament.

It's alright, I appreciate the effort regardless, and I wasn't really expecting much practical aid. At this point I think I'm really just venting steam.

[She looks up from the gear at the path she still has to head down and groans, but determinedly starts standing up again anyway.]

Well, nothing for it but to forge ahead. I'll speak with you again sometime when I'm in less of a painful predicament, miss.

He's an Archeops who's been teaching himself to type, actually. I'd find it remarkable if it wasn't being used for such pointless ends.

Hm... she's blonde and... well, I can't say much about her physical appearance, because the fact that she's just utterly bizarre is more striking than anything else. She seems as though she only has the most basic understanding of normal human interaction, and even then I'm skeptical.

That's... actually very impressive, especially considering he has to do it with talons.

I hate to tell you this, but I think that describes entirely too many people I've met here and back home. [Though back home it would be pony interaction, but... again, not the point.] Blonde, bizarre, talks to Pokemon, interacts with other humans oddly... Okay, well aside from Applejack I don't actually know anyone like that, and AJ's no thief, so we must not be familiar.

If you travel at the same speed for the rest of the way, you would be able to make it out in another four to six hours. [But that's probably being hopeful.] So you probably have a chance of getting out without having to camp.

That's the hope, though it seems as though the trek is getting harder the further in we get. Maybe that's just my imagination though? I really hope it is.

Why can't you bring a grass type out into the cave? Is it because there isn't much sunlight for the Pokémon to absorb?

Well that would be a problem over a long period of time, but I'm actually referring to this cave specifically. The temperature would be very bad for anything plant-based.

It really is. He seems to take an interest in technology in general, which is a bit ironic given that he's one of the prehistoric Pokemon --- hatched from an egg, actually. I suppose he was somehow both born in the wrong and right time simultaneously.

...no, thinking about it, that is true. She's... very easy to recognize if you're familiar with her, but it's hard to describe her in a way that makes her distinct from all the other oddballs here.

Well, I'll keep my eyes open regardless. Maybe I'll get lucky and stumble across her. If I do, I promise to let you know first thing.

I would certainly appreciate that. Admittedly, I would ask you not to enact any sort of retribution on my behalf.

It's possible that it might be getting harder because you're getting tired? [Jade is basically the queen of optimism. So Twilight can do no wrong with trying to rely on hope while conversing with her.] Have you guys sat down and rest a bit yet?

If we're getting tired, there's a very real chance it's from hypothermia, which would mean sitting down and resting would be the worst thing we can do unless we can manage to get a decent fire going.

Which, admittedly, is why we all brought at least one fire-type, but even so I'm hesitant to risk it.

Some plants can withstand very cold temperatures, such as the tundra growing near the Artic Circle, while others can't. I guess most plants here are used to a fairly temperate climate, right?

Ah, I see what you mean, but honestly the only plants that seem ready to deal with cold temperatures are the ones that are also part ice type, and there aren't many of those. The grass typing species of Pokemon are all weak to ice, unless they have another type to balance it out, so you can draw the logical conclusions from that.

I presumed so, but I figured I'd tell you, just in case.

...Anyway, where was I --- ah, yes, from memory, there was a fair bit of... well, I'm not sure if information is the word, exactly. More like... trappings of various myths and legends I've read about here, but mostly those of Sinnoh.

Sinnoh? The region with Dialga, Palkia, and that... what's the third one again, there was so little information about it...

Yes, exactly. ... and no, I have difficulty remembering that one, as well --- I just remember that according to legend, it was apparently sealed off in some other world connected more intimately to this one than most.

...which makes me wonder if it had to deal with everything we went through, come to think of it.
