18th Spell: [Video/Action for Route 36]

[The gear clicks on to show what looks like a room out of an old, rustic cabin, a fairly small one with two benches on the sides, next to windows. Three girls are lounging around in it and four backpacks litter the floor. The view holds there for a few moments... long enough to tell that the "room" is moving.]

I have to admit, this really did work out quite well.

[The gear turns around to show off Twilight's smiling face.]

Amazing what you can put together with a little teamwork, isn't it? I'm still not sure how we'll get this thing over some of the terrain Johto and Kanto have to offer, not to mention traveling between regions, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, as the saying goes.

At any rate, we're about to make our stop so I can show the outside- [Twilight's interrupted by a sudden whinny from outside.] What the... Dash! What's going on?

[There's a bit of a clamor as she shoves herself up to one of the windows along with the gear (and, judging by the noises, all of the other girls as well) and the resultant view of the outside shows a small group of Yanma buzzing by, clearly agitated by the giant intruder in their midst.]

... Well, I should have expected this thing would draw some extra attention. Sorry everyone, I'll have to finish what I was saying later.

[She clicks off the feed.]

[OOC: So, Applejack decided a while ago that the pony group needed a wagon, so she built one! (With mod permission, of course.) This is its first journey, and Twilight will be showing the rest thing off after they deal with their little infestation. Questions about it will be fielded mostly by either Twi or AJ.]

(Rainbow was lounging about in her regular way, commonly referred to as napping...which was sorely interrupted thanks to the Yanma, which caused her to wake up in a cranky mood.)

Say no more! Good thing today's the day I picked for training all my Fire types...

(She's quick to jump out when the door opens, throwing her current team -Blaze and Tails while quickly unhooking Dash from the wagon so she could join in, with the rest being her eggs- into battle!)

[Eeek! She stumbles a bit, trying to get her footing. As always, Shy tries to go the peaceful route, sticking her head out.]

W-wait! Maybe I can talk to them? Maybe?

You might want t'get talkin' then, Sugarcube. These bugs don't look too thrilled t'see us.

We'll spread our Fire-types out and try to discourage them from getting closer. Pyrolepi, take the rear.

[With a quick nod of her fuzzy head, the Larvesta squirms around to the back of the wagon. The Yanma fall back a bit, but show no signs of being ready to retreat.]

If you can get them to back off, so much the better, but we're going to have to be careful here. They're not high-level, but they have us outnumbered.

I don't think they're in a talking mood, but if you think it'll help. Tails, go join Pyrolepi in the back!

(With a nod and squeal of her own, Tails bounds off to go join Pyro at the back of the wagon.)

[Fluttershy manages to get out - Celest the Togetic sitting on her shoulder. She gulps, and holds her arms out.]

E-excuse me! Yanma! We're just passing through! We didn't mean to upset any of you! We don't have to fight... all we want to do is get through!

[buckyouup]

[Applejack stands behind Fluttershy, her lasso in her hand. If things were going to get ugly, she wasn't going to let anything touch her.]

[The Yanma buzz away from the rear of the wagon when Tails joins up with Pyro, not willing to take on two Fire-types at once. They don't seem all that eager to tussle with Dash at the head or Blaze with the girls in the middle either, so it looks like a stalemate.

Until one particularly big Yanma comes down to buzz at them.]

That giant thing muszzt be deszzztroyed! It izzz too large and too noizzzy! It izzz like a crashzzing boulder coming through our home!

[Several of the other Yanma buzz with agreement.]

If you want that monszztroszzity let through, you muszzt defeat me in szzolo combat!

... Fluttershy, what's he saying?

[Pyrolepi, however, can understand him exactly, and she perks up her head to lock gazes with him. The Yanma looks at her, then makes one last statement.]

Bug againszzt Bug.

...Flutters?

(Rainbow's eyes narrow cautiously, eyeing the Yanma that had approached them. She held up her hand at Blaze and Dash, ensuring neither would attack unless provoked first.)

[She gulps, and turns back to her friends.]

They... they think the wagon is too big and noisy. This big one is their leader... If we defeat him, we'll go through.

But... but it has to be a one on one fight, and only with another bug type!

[buckyouup]

...I don't have Pinch on me, gals. Twilight? D'you wanna handle this one?

[friendyousohard]

Leave it to me. Pyrolepi, up for a little one on one?

[Eager, the Larvesta squirms over to Twilight's side and raises herself up in a challenging posture at the threatening Yanma.]

We accept your terms!

Good! Then let battle be joined!

[The other Yanma retreat to a safer distance while Pyro and the big one square off. Twilight waits for them to get away, then gives her first command.]

Flame Charge!

[Cloaking herself in fire, Pyrolepi barrels into the hapless Yanma, who is practically knocked out of the sky by the swift attack.]

(Rainbow grins broadly, picking Tails up once she's come back around and watches with both Blaze and Dash taking up positions near her.)

Take him down, Twilight!

Oooh! Be careful!

[She squeaks, and hugs Celest close, already worried way more than she needs to be.]

Bring 'im down in one shot, Sugarcube!

[friendyousohard]

[The Yanma struggles back into the air and huffs for breath. As Pyrolepi preps her next attack, he opens its mouth wide and fires a Sonicboom at her, causing her to wince in pain, but she's not even close to down.]

Flamethrower!

[The Yanma's compound eyes bulge, but he can't get out of the way of the stream of fire that erupts from Pyrolepi's horns. With a cry, he drops to the ground, and Twi pulls out a Pokeball.]

This is it! Pokeball, go!

[She hurls the ball unerringly at the downed dragonfly, and it's pulled in with little struggle. The ball wiggles once... twice... three times, and with a ping, it's over.]

And there we go.

[The rest of the Yanma buzz in astonishment, pull back a bit, then break apart and scatter as Twi goes to pick up the ball.]

I'll call you... Dracaero. [The ball vanishes, and she turns to the others.]

Well, looks like that's taken care of!

(Rainbow watches excitedly, waiting with anticipation as the fight comes to a close and cheers when Twilight turns.)

THAT'S the way to do it! Awesome job, Twilight~!

(A beat. Then...)

Dracaero?

[She gasps, and then begins jumping for joy.]

You caught him! You caught him! That was amazing! Way to go!

[buckyouup]

[She chuckles at Fluttershy. Careful not to rock the wagon too much, Sugarcube.]

Nicely done. It's no small thing catchin' the leader.

Thanks, girls. I think they ought to respect us enough to let us pass without question after that. And Dracaero is because he's a dragonfly, hence the "drac" part, and his wings are clear as air, so "aero".

[She looks around.]

You know, while we're stopped, this looks like a good spot to set up our lunch campsite, don't you think?

(...She'll try to remember that, but Rainbow may just call him 'Drac' for short in the long run. She does agree with Twilight's suggestion on setting up for lunch, though.)

Hey, yeah! Watching fast-paced battles like that one can get you hungry. And we have our eggs to check up on.

[Oop, time to party is over.]

Okay...! I'll get out the food! And we can let everyone out to eat! And introduce Dracaero to the rest of our family!

[She happily skips back inside the wagon to get the food and preparations.]

That makes things easy for me. All I'm carryin' is eggs.

Introducing him will have to wait, Shy. He got sent to the PC when I caught him.

[Pyrolepi crawls back into the wagon to start gathering the eggs while Twi grabs the tarp to lay it out.]

Hahaha, just eggs? I know we gotta care for them and all, but what happens if they all hatched at once?

(Rainbow glances around at the others for a moment or two, quickly turns so her back's to them -though in reality, she's just staring at the wagon- and nuzzles Tails cheek-to-cheek, pleased with how well she helped out.)
