17th Spell: [Video/Action for Ponies] (Forward dated to Saturday morning)

[The gear clicks on in the middle of a room in the Pokemon Center. Someone's clearly using it, since the sheets are rumpled and the monitoring gear seems to have seen recent use, but no one's in the bed at the moment.

There's a splashing sound nearby, muffled by a door. The gear is moving very, very slowly towards that door.]

Mmmmmmffff... huh?

[Someone appears to have just woken up behind said door, as well.]

A-AJ...?

Um... h-hey there, Sugarcube. You sure had one crazy sleep, didn't ya?

I did...? Where am I? What's going on...?

[The gear is about halfway to the door at this point.]

You passed out on us right 'bout the time we got into Celadon. We were all real worried about you.

Passed out...? The comas!

[Twilight's voice suddenly gets much stronger and there's the sound of a sudden splash, as though she's just moving around in a pool of water.]

I had one! I went back home! Well... sort of. You know what I mean, right?

I... think so?

I saw so much... My brother, and Cadence, the Crystal Empire, even Discord, there's so much to... Um, AJ?

Discord? What in tarnation's he doin' back? We sealed him up for good!

I'll explain that in a moment, but first... what were you doing just before I woke up?

... Givin' you a bath.

[The gear has almost reached the door, when suddenly a large yellow foot slams down in front of it. It wobbles and falls to the ground, showing an Alakazam glaring down at a Slowpoke, which was carrying the gear.]

And what do you think you're doing?

[The gear floats up into Starswirl's hand...]

Apologies to any who saw this and wanted to speak to my trainer. She is currently occupied, but will be with you shortly.

[And clicks off.]

A few moments later...

[The gear clicks on to show a wet haired and slightly bedraggled Twilight.]

Ah, hello everyone. It seems I've encountered one of those week-long sleeps that we go into on occasion, and gotten some new memories of home. Honestly, it feels a bit strange to be back here... but I'll adjust soon enough. If anything important has happened in the past week, I'd appreciate it if somepo- someone could let me know.

... Also, if anyone has any ideas as to how to curb the tendencies of some Pokemon to abscond with peoples' gear and pull, or try to pull, obnoxious pranks on their trainers and others, I'd love to hear them.

I just don't understand why a slowpoke of all things would find an interest in that sort of thing. They're supposed to be slow-witted and dull, not pranksters. I'd expect that more out of your Zorua or the like.

... Where are Fluttershy and Rainbow, by the way?

...If Rascal wanted th'world t'see me naked, she'd just transform into me an' run about town. [She sighs. Please don't give her any ideas.]

Rainbow's out trainin' somewhere, an' Fluttershy's waitin' for me to finish bathin' you so she can get you dressed an' brush your hair.

Oh, so you guys have divvied up the work of caring for me while I was asleep, I see.

We all wanted t'make sure you were as happy as healthy as can be while you were asleep.

[Sometime after Twi is properly cleaned and dressed - Fluttershy had been wondering what was taikng so long, and in worry, left her room. And thus she sees...]

[And here comes the tackle hug!]

[She's not bowled over, but she does stagger a bit before returning the hug.]

I'm glad to see you too. Sorry if I worried you at all.

[Pulling back, she looks down at the green dress she's wearing.]

So, you've been picking out my clothes while I slept, according to AJ?

[She nuzzles her friend for a little bit before pulling back as well.]

Oh, yes, that's right... We all had our own duties in taking care of you. I couldn't just leave you out in the cold!

I appreciate the effort you made to keep me from being trapped in hospital gowns. Though I'm surprised the Joys let you take over my care so much...

(Cue waiting impatiently until Applejack's finished bathing Twilight. And she offers a wide grin upon seeing Twilight up and around.)

Besides, I knew Applejack and Fluttershy had it under control.

...Ha, I found out I shouldn't try to leap over snowball towers before I'm ready. What happened while you were out anyway?

I have heard of those week-long periods of unconsciousness, but I've never really experienced one. How do they go, exactly...? Well, in any case, nothing particularly exciting has happened this week, so it isn't as though you've missed anything.

...as for your second question, that really has only been a problem for me once, and it never happened again after a good scolding.

This would be the first one I've experienced. Basically, what happened from my perspective was that I fell asleep here, and promptly woke up in my own world, with no memory of this one except as a vague dream. I then spent roughly a year back in my own world as normal, until apparently this world had decided I had "caught up" to events back in my own, and brought me back here.

Unfortunately, scolding doesn't seem to be enough for Snails. He keeps falling asleep in the middle of it. I really wouldn't have expected this sort of thing from a Slowpoke...

About a year...? Well, it's not as though time here ever matches up to time back home in any discernible way. Do you know if people have had less than a week pass for them in their own worlds despite being asleep for a week here?

[If at all possible, he'd really like to be back before the end of the Grail War so he can put Ideas into motion...]

I... haven't actually heard of that, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. Like you said, the odds of any sort of correlation are minimal.

[She sighs at the thought, rolling her eyes.]

I wish. If I had a Pokemon with the move Uproar, maybe, but then I'd have to talk to him through that cacophony. As it stands I'm basically talking to a wall. I've taken to putting him in his ball every time he does it, but that hasn't improved things so far.

Do you have a Pokemon with the move Skill Swap and the ability Insomnia, by any chance? Or one Pokemon with Skill Swap and one Pokemon with Insomnia, anyway. Skill Swap allows a Pokemon to switch abilities with its target, so I assume it might be possible to arrange that, even if there's a somewhat convoluted process to it.

Well, I'm not sure how good my advice is, but I find that putting collars and leashes on solid animals that misbehave can sometimes help teach them to stop.

[Reid frowns, but that's not exactly visible on an audio feed.] Are you okay? Did you see anything upsetting?

[She'll keep the video off if if makes him feel better.] Collars and leashes... I can try that. You think it's more effective than putting them in the ball for a while?

Well, I can't really complain too much. There were some intense moments, but everything turned out all right in the end.

[He just prefers to just be heard rather than seen, so thank you, Twilight.] I find that the threat of a ball only works so much. At a certain point, they figure out how to get back out.

I'm glad. So it was mostly a regular few... I'm guessing at least a few weeks, if you're still disoriented.

I thought that was an uncommon ability. I know Riku's Pokemon can do that, and some ghosts, but beyond that, I haven't heard very much about it.

A full year, actually, and a rather eventful one.

Well, even if it's uncommon, my animals have figured it out. I think it's difficult, but as long as they can do it at all, it's easier to keep an eye on them when they're just on a leash. At least for the smaller ones. [He doesn't want to even try putting his Aerodactyl on a leash.] It gives more control.

A full year? [Wow that's longer than he expected.] Are you okay? I don't know how I'd react if I had to readjust after so long. [He'd probably despair at his apparent psychotic break again. Because that was so much fun last time.]
