[Leaping gleefully around in the air like an idiot at the sudden regaining of her actual body is... a purple unicorn.]

My real body, and my magic! Everything's back to normal! Oh this is terrific, there's so many new things to do. Where do I even start?

[She claps her hooves together, grinning wildly (and just slightly manically) at the prospect for a moment... then she notices something behind her. A very large, menacing looking shadow.]

Hey, what is... [She turns around, and her eyes practically pop out of her head. And well they might, given what she's seeing...]

[Twilight reaches out with her magic and connects to the other her's spell.]

[And with a quick flash of magic power, the two are warped straight to the other side of the city. Twilight quickly looks around to make sure they're where she wanted to end up, but any worries prove quickly unfounded.]

Good, that should be far enough away. And I have to say, I think that was one of our better teleportations.

I'm going to have to agree with that. I can't judge the precision, but the distance is certainly farther than I've able to get consistently.

Well, it's exactly where I wanted to go, so we can basically say this was a perfect execution!

[She beams at the thought for a moment.]

Okay, so now that we've got a bit of breathing room, let's see if we can figure out just what's going on here.

Whatever it is, it strongly resembles time-compression backlash, if it isn't that already.

Time... Compression? That sounds dangerous. Discord-level dangerous. Can you elaborate a bit?

It's basically what it sounds like - some Sorceress had the [spoken sarcastically] brilliant idea to try to get an entire dimension's history to collapse in on itself.

A group of mercenary types called SeeDs stopped her, but the backlash is randomly bringing things, including people, from other dimensions to and from that world.

...Okay, the fact that she could use that kind of magic in the first place is kind of scary. The ends to which she apparently put it are just plain absurd. No wonder so much crazy backlash is happening.

Hmm... If time's involved, then... what's the last thing that happened for you at home?

Shiny and Cadence just left on their honeymoon.

Then you're ahead of me. The last thing I remember is the Mare-Do-Well incident. I guess that would make you my future self.

Fortunately, Fluttershy's already filled me in on most of what happened in between there, though it's still odd to think of Shining getting married...

A place called Johto. It's part of a world where creatures called Pokemon live side-by-side with humans. I assume you've met those where you are, they seem to be pretty much everywhere.

You'd be right about that. I can't say I've heard of anything called a Pokémon before, though.
