Hey, what is... [She turns around, and her eyes practically pop out of her head. And well they might, given what she's seeing...]

[Ed just happens to be nearby to catch wind of her delight. Which is enough to make him pause and look back at the pony- mouth opening to speak when-

He doesn't hesitate to jump between them, his own - very confused - pokemon forgotten as he slams both hands to the ground to put a barrier between them and the pokemon giving them both a heart attack.]

[Well that she hadn't expected. She stares at the barrier, then him, then the barrier again.]

I... I'm fine, aside from the near heart attack. What... what is that thing? It can't be a Pokemon, can it?

[There's a roar from the other side of the barrier, and then suddenly... silence.]

Okay, that can't possibly be good.

[If he did, he might have sent his Milotic after it, instead of trying to defend them himself. Oops.

Ed looks from her to the barrier, obviously freaked out - but not really wanting to take a look.]

We should probably get out of here...

Right, sorry. It was a rhetorical question. Let's just get going and put as much between ourselves and-

[And suddenly, with what can only be described as a blurring of reality, the enormous centipede... dragon... ghost... monstrosity reappears. Right behind them.]

Ed drops to the ground again, sending a wave of spikes towards it this time - keeping his eye on the pokemon the whole time as as the ground in front of him shifts.]

How are we supposed to beat this thing?

Beat, nothing. I think our focus right now should be on escape!

[Especially since the spikes don't seem to do any more to it than a scattering of thumbtacks would do to a human. That is to say, it's getting angry and roaring louder.]

Maybe if I can teleport us far enough away that it can't track us-

[The Giratina interrupts her by leaping forward, wings spread, and landing right in front of her with a menacing growl. Twilight stares up at it in near-petrified horror.]

[She's interrupted by a growl from Giratina, and after practically jumping out of her skin she turns to flee.]

Y-yes Princess! Running now! But... please, be careful!

[She starts to gallop away... but the beast's eyes are following her. Before Celestia can unleash her royal powers, it vanishes, blurring completely out of sight.]

[She begins to walk backwards, away from the creature. Giratina just watches her for a moment.

Then it starts to lean its neck down towards her.]

[She doesn't even notice the new guy at first.]

Now take it easy, um... whatever you are. I don't know what you want, but I'm sure we can resolve this peacefully...

[She's backing up, clearly intending to run from the creature as soon as she's far enough away. Still not noticing him.]

[And, as usual, Rainbow has chosen probably the worst option available. The looming beast turns it eyes at her and lets out a sound that... well it would just be a roar if it didn't kind of feel like reality was being torn apart as it screams.]
