Good morning, everyone. I'd like to talk to you all about competition.

I don't have to tell you about the usual way people compete in this world, I mean we're saturated in it every day we're here. But what if, say, you have a Pokemon who doesn't really like to fight? Or you don't enjoy battling them? Or for that matter what if you just want another option aside from Pokemon battling? Most Pokemon, and for that matter a lot of us as well, still enjoy a good competitive atmosphere, so what's the solution?

Well, me and my friend Korra hit on an idea last month. Some of you might have seen the post she made about that snow creation she and her Pokemon made using nothing but various moves from their arsenals and the surrounding materials. So we got to thinking, what's stopping us from making that into some sort of event? Creative team-building exercises for our Pokemon and ourselves that we can show off the results of, maybe even submit them for judging if some of us want to be on a panel. And that's just the beginning! We could make an entire set of sports around this if we put our minds to it, I'm quite sure.

This is really just the seed of an idea, and I'll be honest, it'll take a lot of effort and interest to get anything out of it, but it was just something I really thought should be brought up to the regions as a whole. At this point we are still very much in the brainstorming part of things, so if anything I've said has sparked an idea with you, let's hear it! And I encourage discussion in the middle of this post.

Who else have you talked to?

You're the twelth person to express interest here, and the first to have any musical background, at least that I know of.

Well, this does seem to be a pretty popular idea. I'm not really surprised, however. How about you? Did you expect this level of interest?

I wasn't really sure what to expect, to be honest. This amount of attention is both gratifying and kind of worrying.

Is it overwhelming?

A little. We have a lot to figure out before we can actually do even one of these events, and I have... quite a few ideas written down here.

Now, we won't be doing everything. One of the first things I have to do is cut out the events that we can't possibly do. But even once I've done that, I'm worried we'll have more suggestions than we will people to make them work.

For those to run the events, or those to participate in them?

I'm a lot more concerned about the former. Setup, judging, those sort of things are what have me concerned. I'm thinking I'll need at least three judges per event, to make things fair. That's already thirty total if we run ten.

Though I can probably recycle judges at least in some events.

Depending on what the other events are, I don't mind helping out there, then.

Do you have any idea of where you'll have all of this take place? That's a place to start, if nothing else.

I've gotten a few suggestions as to that, including near Goldenrod and the Safari Zone in Fuchsia. I haven't made a decision yet though.

Goldenrod's plus is that it's the central city in all of Johto. There are also plenty of shops, in case you need any supplies.

Yeah, it really is convenient that way. Of course, we also need sufficient space to run these events, and I'm not sure the areas around Goldenrod are big enough... well, I suppose that largely depends on which events we choose in the end.

That IS the con for Goldenrod.

Azalea is the city nearest to it, right?

I think Violet, Azalea, and Ecruteak are all about equally far away, but none of them are really good spots either. Azalea in particular is a poor choice, there's just no room around there.

What do you think the laws are on building places in the middle of the woods?

That probably depends on the woods in question. The woods between Azalea and Goldenrod are kind of sacred, so I imagine that would be disallowed.

Yeah, probably not them. But there's plenty of other space throughout Johto, right?

There is, yes. The Safari Zone has actually been suggested as an option, and though Cianwood isn't precisely the easiest place to get to, flying Pokemon ought to solve the problem.

Of course, that requires permission from the owners, but it's worth asking, at least.

No harm in asking, I would think.

Right. So that's the best option I can think of right now, but I'm still considering backup locations./font>

I'm wandering around a little. I could check out some of the different towns and let you know whatever requirements you have in mind.
