[Leaping gleefully around in the air like an idiot at the sudden regaining of her actual body is... a purple unicorn.]

My real body, and my magic! Everything's back to normal! Oh this is terrific, there's so many new things to do. Where do I even start?

[She claps her hooves together, grinning wildly (and just slightly manically) at the prospect for a moment... then she notices something behind her. A very large, menacing looking shadow.]

Hey, what is... [She turns around, and her eyes practically pop out of her head. And well they might, given what she's seeing...]

What... the... hay?

Whatever it is, it strongly resembles time-compression backlash, if it isn't that already.

[Trixie tries to make the giant grey creature not go on a rampage by just standing still and watching the situation play out.

But if worse comes to worse, she'll run.]

Um... T-Twilight. Twilight Sparkle.

[The Giratina stares at them for a bit before skreeing, if rather softly. Twilight considers that for a second, then turns to Pinkie.]

I don't think it's going to be able to tell us its name.

[The Giratina skrees at her, but not at an ear-piercing volume. Twilight just stares at it, trying to figure out how to talk to it.]

Well... looks like we're at an impasse, here. At least it seems peaceful.

[She lifts a hoof to tap her chin, trying to figure out a way to resolve this.]

No kidding. Actually, Rainbow, you were here too, but... well, nopony usually remembers Johto when they leave it.

[Giratina responds to Twilight's question by leaning down and skreeing at her. Twilight backs up a couple steps, but the thing doesn't seem ready to attack, at least...]

Right. It'll be kind of hard to communicate, won't it...?

I really wish I knew what you were, at least.

Time... Compression? That sounds dangerous. Discord-level dangerous. Can you elaborate a bit?

I don't know! I think it might have been a Pokemon of some type, but I have never seen one like that in my life! Pokemon can get kind of imposing, but that was just extreme.

A pokemon? I think a few people have those where I'm from, but nothing like that...

...but that's not the point! Twilight, there's something huge going on: a conspiracy greater than anything this world or my world has to offer. I don't know how I know these things, but I have...images of these other places, places that take people from home and force them to commit to the rules of their prison. One of them slipped up and nearly fused with another such place and made me realize there might be others like Mayfield or Somarium or...wherever this place is. Being here just confirms it.

[She just... stares for a moment in confounded silence, trying to make sense of that.]

Okay, so if I get what you're telling me... There are other worlds out there that take people away from home and trap them, these places can even take us when we're already in one of the others, and keep us in both places simultaneously, and they're all... connected, somehow? Do I have that right?

... What?! [yep, she said it again.] Are you feeling okay, Twi?

I'm fine, Rainbow, it's this place that's messed up. Losing memories when you leave is par for the course around here, probably because if anyone remembered they'd be trying to find a way to get their friends out of it.

Yes, exactly! Though sometimes they can take more than two of a person...

I haven't figured out how they're managing to pull off something this grand, but however they're doing it, they're doing it flawlessly and it's unsettling.

It's basically what it sounds like - some Sorceress had the [spoken sarcastically] brilliant idea to try to get an entire dimension's history to collapse in on itself.

A group of mercenary types called SeeDs stopped her, but the backlash is randomly bringing things, including people, from other dimensions to and from that world.

That's... that raises so many questions. I don't even know where to begin. I need to make a checklist just to determine what I need to figure out about this phenomenon!

...Okay, the fact that she could use that kind of magic in the first place is kind of scary. The ends to which she apparently put it are just plain absurd. No wonder so much crazy backlash is happening.

Hmm... If time's involved, then... what's the last thing that happened for you at home?

(Just a bit of magic here and poof! A typical Twilight-proportioned log of questions and thoughts she's had on the matter ever since she came to this conclusion.)

But if I may...what kind of place is this, anyway? I've somehow seen a few of the other places that pull this sort of thing and this place looks the most...natural.

Shiny and Cadence just left on their honeymoon.

It's not attacking us, at least.

But it's obviously not a normal pokémon. It's way too big for that...

How long have you been here, Twilight?

[You know, she really should have expected this. She's already got the log open and is skimming through it, but that doesn't stop her from answering the question.]

This world is called "Johto". It's a place populated by humans and Pokemon. You probably have met humans by now, but I'm betting you haven't encountered Pokemon yet, right?

Then you're ahead of me. The last thing I remember is the Mare-Do-Well incident. I guess that would make you my future self.

Fortunately, Fluttershy's already filled me in on most of what happened in between there, though it's still odd to think of Shining getting married...

Since December, and it's late May now, so that makes over five months... Wow, I completely forgot it had been so long.

Do you think it's a Legendary? Maybe it wants my help with something.

Not really, but I know of them; some of the people I'm from are pokemon trainers and thought I was one for a while. I haven't had many experiences with them, unless that creature counts as one.

(It might not be too bad an idea to ask her a question or two before she unleashes her onslaught of them. This Twilight seems to know quite a bit.)
