Good morning, everyone. I'd like to talk to you all about competition.

I don't have to tell you about the usual way people compete in this world, I mean we're saturated in it every day we're here. But what if, say, you have a Pokemon who doesn't really like to fight? Or you don't enjoy battling them? Or for that matter what if you just want another option aside from Pokemon battling? Most Pokemon, and for that matter a lot of us as well, still enjoy a good competitive atmosphere, so what's the solution?

Well, me and my friend Korra hit on an idea last month. Some of you might have seen the post she made about that snow creation she and her Pokemon made using nothing but various moves from their arsenals and the surrounding materials. So we got to thinking, what's stopping us from making that into some sort of event? Creative team-building exercises for our Pokemon and ourselves that we can show off the results of, maybe even submit them for judging if some of us want to be on a panel. And that's just the beginning! We could make an entire set of sports around this if we put our minds to it, I'm quite sure.

This is really just the seed of an idea, and I'll be honest, it'll take a lot of effort and interest to get anything out of it, but it was just something I really thought should be brought up to the regions as a whole. At this point we are still very much in the brainstorming part of things, so if anything I've said has sparked an idea with you, let's hear it! And I encourage discussion in the middle of this post.

Hey, this is what Korra was talking about the other day! So around when do you think we can expect to see these competitions? Summer?

I cannot emphasize enough how early it is to be asking that. We're still in the brainstorming phase here, this whole thing is barely even formed. We'll need to finalize the ideas, make rules, get judges, figure out a place to hold everything, there's... really no point in even trying to guess how long it'll take.

But on the bright side that means we all have plenty of time to throw new ideas out there.

Well, yeah, but you gotta take seasons into account, too. Natural ones and sports ones. Baseball will be going on from March through October and that might cause conflicts, but the weather'll be better for outdoor events. On the other hand, in Goldenrod, anyway, there's a great stadium you might be able to use when the Granbulls aren't there.

Actually that's a really good point... we started out with mostly ideas that would work best in winter, but at this point of brainstorming, I'd say we can mix and match for just about any season.

What kind of winter sports were you thinking of, then? I'm only coming up with hockey.

Well this whole thing started out with Korra's ice castle, so the very first idea we had was actually ice building competitions. More traditional sport-like activities would include sled racing, snowball targeting competitions, and like you said, hockey's always good.

Sled racing would be awesome. For the artsy types, you could do ice sculpture or something, too.

Yep, those are on the list too. Though of course we'll need some judges.

I'm no judge of art. But if you're holding these things anywhere near Goldenrod, I can help with the athletic events.

[Or he could be a sports announcer. He's definitely got the voice for it.]

Goldenrod is one possibility. Basically we just need a place with a lot of open space, which would be easy for almost everyone to get to.

You could even move it around for different events depending on who shows interest, I guess. That way it's fair.

I'll take that idea under advisement for after we manage to get this all together once.
