[The gear's camera shows a nice view of the night sky (well, sort of nice, it's still pretty cloudy and the fog's rolling in, after all) as Twilight clicks it on. Something flutters across the view, but it's pretty dark and hard to see what it is.]

I thought things would get a bit brighter after we got out of Ilex Forest, but not just yet, I guess. Ah well, Echo seems to like it better like this anyway.

[As the unidentifiable (unless you know Twi named her Zubat Echo) Pokemon flutters by again, the camera seems to come just a bit closer to it, then slide a bit further away.]

Trying to adapt to Pokemon that have different sleep schedules is a bit tougher than I thought. I figured with all my experience staying up to cram for tests I'd have been more ready for this, but it's definitely cut into our travel time. Not that the recent weather was helping, mind. Anyone else have any problems with that?

[A loud snort comes from behind, and Twilight chuckles, shifting the camera around to show her own face... and right behind it, that of the Snorlax she's using as a bed.]

Then again, some of them can sleep wherever and whenever, and are pretty good at helping us with that too. On that note, I should say that if you've never used a Snorlax as a bed before, you should try it. Best. Mattress. Ever.

Yep. They evolve from Munchlax, but to the best of my knowledge they're pretty hard to come by either way. I managed to get a Munchlax egg by asking over the gear a while back, and Sapphire hear evolved over a week ago. They're the type that evolve through happiness, but fortunately keeping a Munchlax happy is pretty easy... If you've got enough money.

Ah, well, I'm not really one to go looking for more Pokémon... But it sounds like a kind that would be good to at least meet.

Do you already have a full team? I can definitely understand not wanting to get any more if you've already got six.

Same here. I try to rotate them out fairly, but... well, that can get difficult if you're on the road with no centers around.

Yeah. It's such a pain, y'know? If I could keep all of them out, I would, but this place'll only let you keep six with you.

I know. I can understand limiting it to six for the purpose of combat, but if you only used six for actual fighting, I really do think those rules could be bent a little to let you at least carry the others with you.

Then again, it also keeps anyone from training an army of fully-levelled powerhouse Pokemon and unleashing them all simultaneously-

[Mid-sentence, a sudden strike of horror hits her and her eyes widen as she realizes exactly what she's saying, and the implications.]

Oh dear Celestia... is that why that rule exists?

...Ahh, is that why? If that's the case, I can see why they'd want to prevent that...

Well I... I've never heard of anything like that, but it could have happened... [She gulps, the thought of it starting to form in her mind, and oh it is terrifying.] If there were no limits but what you put on yourself, and you had enough time and pokeballs, a single person could capture dozens, hundreds of Pokemon, and over time, train them all to the limits of their strength.

[There's only one word for something like that, and Twilight whispers it in horror.]

An army. An army of pokemon, all obedient to the will of a single trainer. Dear Princesses, what would that even be like? Team Rocket would look like a bunch of mischievous children next to something like that.

Somehow, I get the feeling Team Rocket would love to have that kind of thing, if it was allowed.

I think that much goes without saying. [She shudders.] And there are a lot of them, too... sheer numbers of trainers with the same goal could end up equaling the same thing.

[This conversation took a very dark turn.]

Yeah... Haaaaa, that'd really suck, if that ever happened. Some of us actually like that this world isn't covered in war.

I've never seen a war, myself, and I'd prefer to keep it that way. Reading the old records was enough for me.

[She shudders a bit at the thought of the horrors described in there. Some things, even she doesn't want to know more about.]

Hopefully, you'll never have to.
